Audio Archive - It Came From The Coop( 0:56:0)
Episode Information
Hosted by Eddie and Glen. A few months ago I was gifted a couple of boxes of records rescued from a pigeon coop in the Waikato. Among them was a pile of 7" singles, most of which were in pretty rough shape so I set them aside. When I came to clean them up I found that I had a nice selection of songs, enough for a show in fact. So in the first half of the show we have an eclectic selection including Crystal Gayle, Queen and the mighty Prince Tui Teka, while the second half showcases Herbs and no less than four Bob Marley and the Wailers discs! We conclude the show with some Thunderbirds. Cheers Arthur and thanks!

Audio Archive - Robert Wyatt( 0:57:21)
Episode Information
Hosted by Eddie. Robert Wyatt is an English musician who began his career in the Canterbury prog scene as the drummer for Soft Machine. After becoming paralysed as the result of a fall he was forced to reinvent himself as one of the more original musical artists that the UK produced in the 1980's. He retired from music in 2014, but his work remains some of the more poignant to come out of that era (see Shipbuilding). We feature tracks from his prog career as well as a selection of songs that we think demonstrates both his incredible emotional resonance and his deeply held left-wing political beliefs.

Steve Albini - A Memorial( 0:53:30)

Hosted by Eddie. Steve Albini was a big figure in the American Hardcore movement and his recent death leaves a sizeable hole in the punk firmament. In this show I have assembled a selection of his music that shows his considerable passion intellect and anger. It Came From The Bin!( 0:52:44)
Episode Information
Hosted by Eddie.
Sometimes I acquire so many records that a few of them end up relegated to the 'To Be Played' Bin. This is the story of several such albums. They all emerged during the same listening session, so I've made a show about them. It is truly an eclectic selection and includes some genres I don't often play. Country is represented by Patsy Cline (classic) and Garner Wayne (fair dinkum kiwi), Classical by Wagner (not Ride of the Valkyries) and Sousa (go on guess!). The truly strange is a selection from Electronic Music III (a James Joyce remix!). All this and more!

Also featured is the classic metal of Deaf Dealer (not a typo!), the spiky and acerbic indy rock of the Bush Tetras and the wild jazz of Alphonse Mouzon. Known for both his musicianship and activism he is considered one of the most important drummers in jazz. For this show I have chosen discs where he is one of the headliners and tracks where he is one of the composers. This is the jazz my father loved, intellectual but not pretentious, and played with skill and passion.

Audio Archive 18-04-2024 - Family: Sober and Unsober( 0:54:45)
Episode Information
Hosted by Eddie and Glen. Wikipedia describes Family as "an odd band with a small, but rabid fanbase." Roger Chapman, the vocalist, was the consistent element in an otherwise changing melange of rock and blues musicians. In this show we draw on the albums Bandstand, Old Songs New Songs, A Song For Me and Fearless, with special guests the Streetwalkers. The show is roughly divided into two halves; Sober (prog and blues) and Unsober (rock). I rate Family as one of the best bands of their era, listen and find out why.
