Audio Archive - Tom Waits( 0:52:9)
Episode Information
Hosted by Glen and Eddie. Tom Waits is a unique individual whose work spans the decades from the 1970's to well into the new millennium. He brings poetical insight to the travails of the outsider characters that populate much of his work. We showcase his talents as a beat poet (Nighthawks at the Diner) as well as a fearsomely good songwriter and composer (Swordfishtrombones, Heart Attack & Vine, Bone Machine). No-one does it quite like Tom Waits.

Audio Archive - Odd Aussie Rock( 0:54:0)
Episode Information
Hosted by Glen and Eddie. Recently I obtained some records and a good number turned out to be from Australian bands, so that is as good a theme as any. We showcase a variety of groups, from the indy-rock of the Moodists, surf-grunge of the Scientists and pure-punk of the Hard-ons (with special guest Henry Rollins!) we also feature Jo Jo Zep (without the Falcons) and the glorious (and totally obscure) disco-afrobeat of King Cobra. Definitely something for everyone in this show.

Audio Archive - Josh White( 0:51:57)
Episode Information
Hosted by Eddie. Josh White was once one of the most well-known musicians in the USA. As a prominent 'race record' artist between the wars his prolific output and ability to play many styles of music led him to both stage and screen work as well as recorded music. After World War II he was persecuted for his progressive stands on race and civil rights in both America and world-wide. He was virtually blacklisted in the USA until the 1960's and his career and legacy suffered. We showcase five albums: Josh at Midnight, The World of Josh White, The House I Live In, Chain Gang Songs and Empty Bed Blues. Listen to an hour of the most well-known bluesman you've never heard of.

Episode Information
Hosted by Glen and Eddie. Because jazz has been around longer than many other musical forms, fans of jazz have become used to fare-welling their idols. Recently the tenor saxophonist Benny Golson passed away at the age of 94. Considered one of the most significant figures of the 'hard bop' movement he was a noted writer of music for both TV, film and stage as well as his jazz work. We showcase both his solo work and his work as a member of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers.

Audio Archive - URGH! - A Live Selection( 0:53:46)
Episode Information
Hosted by Eddie. I recently acquired an album I had wanted for a long time. Urgh! A music War is a double album based on a 1982 film of the same name. The film consisted of bands performing a single song live in concert and there is an impressive variety here. I've added a couple of other live albums, Slade Alive! (one of the best live albums ever!) and John Cale's Sabotage/Live. Other bands featured include: The Cramps, The Go-Gos, Orchestral Maneuvers In The Dark, Steel Pulse, Gary Numan, John Otway, Joan Jett and Athletico Spizz '80.

As I have over 60 Miles Davis items in my catalogue there is a fair bit to choose from, but over the next several months I'll be exploring it. Hosted by Eddie. In this show I take the last few records in my 'To Be Listened To' bin and combine them into a show. This is a truly eclectic selection featuring four very different records. The Exotic Circle is a Kiwi records production of a woodwind group specialising in recorders, if you want to hear what a contrabass recorder sounds like look no further. We also play songs from a Folkways Records album of Japanese Koto and an anonymous Japanese band promoting the CD-4 digital recording process. Most notably we play two selections from a European album entitled Americana; Ionisation by Edgar Varese and First Construction in Metal by John Cage. Something for everyone this week!

He also worked extensively with his brother Nat Adderley, usually as part of a quintet. On this show we explore my CDs of his work, showcasing the albums Nippon Soul, Know What I Mean? and The Quintet Live in San Francisco. Audio Archive - It Came From The Coop( 0:56:0)
Episode Information
Hosted by Eddie and Glen. A few months ago I was gifted a couple of boxes of records rescued from a pigeon coop in the Waikato. Among them was a pile of 7" singles, most of which were in pretty rough shape so I set them aside. When I came to clean them up I found that I had a nice selection of songs, enough for a show in fact. So in the first half of the show we have an eclectic selection including Crystal Gayle, Queen and the mighty Prince Tui Teka, while the second half showcases Herbs and no less than four Bob Marley and the Wailers discs! We conclude the show with some Thunderbirds. Cheers Arthur and thanks!
